Lance Blomgren is a writer and curator from Vancouver. He is the author of the novel Walkups and Corner Pieces, a collection of fiction and urban proposals. His essays and fiction have been in journals and exhibition publications internationally. His research on serial photographic practices resulted in Still Films, an exhibition at the Yukon Arts Centre, and Duplicitous at the Helen Pitt Gallery. For the 2015 Midnight Sun Camera Obscura Festival Lance Blomgren curated The World Inside, an exhibition of work by the Festival’s participating artists in Dawson City’s Odd Gallery, June 18 to August 2, 2015.

The Camera Obscura Project brings together an international group of artists and other researchers interested in cameras obscura, related optical phenomenon and the meeting places of: art and science, cultural and wilderness settings, learning and play. With funding from The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada the Project is based at Thompson Rivers University, Kamloops, B.C.
